Three Global First Year programs are offered to fit your English-language proficiency. You can change majors within the G1Y academic tracks and explore what interests you.
As a Global First Year student, you benefit from a team that will support you with every step of the process, from completing the application to getting your visa to packing for the airport.
Receive more individual attention and customized support with fewer students in your classes. Some of your courses are exclusively for international students like you.
Get to know your new city by going to fun events with the G1Y group. For instance, visiting downtown Miami and exploring museums, beaches and restaurants or exploring and learning about Florida’s famous Everglades National Park.
Gain the knowledge you need for daily life at FIU and the learning skills required in U.S. classrooms with this core FIU course.
Give your career a fast start with the Career Accelerator. This two-year program enhances professional skills and offers access to internships for invaluable experience.
